International Meeting on "Castles of the Military Orders', jointly organised by the Municipality of Palmela /GESOS and the Directorate-General of Cultural Heritage, will be held at the Convent of Christ in Tomar, 10-13 October 2012.

From 15 to 23 September the exhibition "Variations on a theme - the Vascão brook", by Orlando José, will be held in the exhibition room of the headquarters of Mértola’s Archaeological Site / Centre for Islamic Studies and the Mediterranean.

In August 2012, Mértola’s Archaeological Site, in collaboration with the Municipality of Mértola, will conduct another excavation campaign in the Citadel of the Castle of Mértola with the involvement of volunteers.

The Scientific Repository of CAM, whose fundamental objective is to store, preserve and disseminate the scientific output of the institution in digital format has, at this time, 100 deposits and 2151 downloads, only in the current year.

The inauguration of the Alcaria dos Javazes Museum Centre takes place on 21 June at 18:00 local time. As part of the Museum of Mértola, the new Centre is yet another hallmark of the Municipality’s cultural heritage.

Mértola’s Archaeological Site will be present at the Seminar on Cultural Tourism and Archaeology, held 15 June at the Auditorium of the Casa da Luz Museum, in the city of Funchal.

The exhibition "The signs of everyday life: gestures, symbols and marks in the Al-Andalus" is being held at the new Islamic Centre of the Tavira Municipal Museum since the 18th of May, International Museum Day.

On 8 June, at 17h30, a cycle of presentations of the on-going projects of CEAUCM-CAM’s young researchers will take place in the “Casa Amarela” – CAM.

On 29 May, at 14h30, the conference “Centring research – recent research in the Citadel of the Castle of Mértola” will take place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto.

The Colloquium “Dialects from the Sea and River” takes place on 4, 5 and 6 May 2012 at the Centre for Islamic Studies and the Mediterranean/Mértola’s Archaeological Field.

The Library of Mértola’s Archaeological Site (BCAM) participated in the past 21st of March “Week of Reading” of the Group of Schools of Mértola, held by the School Library / Educational Resource Centre Aurelio Frazão Saragoça.
